Barbara Parker
Barbara Parker, Metaphysical Minister, Marriage Officiant and Funeral Celebrant
I am Rev Barbara Parker, a Life-Cycle Celebrant and Metaphysical Minister, happily working with many different clients who are engaged in the process of living through joy and sorrow, challenge and opportunity. I co-create ceremonies from birth through end of life. With a strong interest in serving those who are approaching end of life, I offer consultation and preparation services. I serve on one of the committees with the Canmore Palliative Care Society.
Canmore has been my home for 35 years, and the high and wild places in the Bow Valley fill my spirit. I am married to Tony Bloom, a sculptor who has gifted me a life full of creativity and beautiful objects. Not to mention a pretty terrific son.
My path to becoming a Celebrant and a Metaphysical Minister wound through personal growth, a questing heart, a love of writing, and an abiding interest in people. My spiritual line draws from a deep belief in the power of compassion, love and curiosity. The creativity of creating one of a kind ceremonies that are personally meaningful always results in moments that are absolutely memorable. I am honoured to make wonderful intimate connections with my clients. Being able to be a part of both weddings and memorials for friends and neighbours in my community has been a special honour. My favourite part? Meeting the new babies!
A Ceremony Delivered
With Love
I can’t help it. I have a big heart, and I love what I do!
A CEREMONY THAT
HONOURS STORY
My clients come to me with great love, and want to honour that love in some way. The power of story within ceremony is in the connections, the memories, the laughter and the tears.
LIFE’S PASSAGES
CELEBRATED TOGETHER
Good ceremony builds community. Those who participate are empowered to embrace a new state of being. Those who bear witness offer up a mirror that says: “See, you did this”.
Let’s Celebrate Your Next Life Moment Together
Because ceremony will ask you to dive headlong into your own life. Because creating ceremony will ask you, what do you hold sacred? Because listening to the story you are making of this life is empowering and enlivening. What are you waiting for?
